In a bid to construct a mini airport in
Athani, a team of Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (KSIIDC) conducted a survey of land for the airport in Athani on Tuesday.
If everything goes well, Athani will get a 'mini airport' infrastructure for the operations of small aircraft such as 20 seaters in the coming days.
Following the pro-posal submitted by
Athani MLA Mahesh Kumatalli, a team of Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (KSIIDC), Bengaluru headed by technical advisor Brigadier DM Poorvimath visited Athani town on Tuesday.
The team inspected the available government land for the airport infrastructure at Yalahadagi village of Athani.
The team has also asked Athani
Tahsildar Suresh Munje to provide a detailed report about the existence of high voltage pow- er cables, irrigation canals near the proposed land, maps.
and other details of the proposed land.
There is a total of 319 acres

is a requirement of 150 acres
land for construction of run-
way, airport terminal and other
infrastructure for the mini air-
port. If everything happens as
planned, the mini airport of
Athani will become the second
