Belagavi Airport gets ‘Ambulift’ facility – AAI introduces first time in Karnataka
In a major development, the state-of-art Ambulift services have been introduced by Airports Authority of India (AAI) firstly in Karnataka at Belagavi Airport.
Rajeshkumar Maurya, Director, Belagavi Airport informed that with the introduction of the Ambulift facilities, passengers with reduced mobility using stretcher and wheelchair will get more comfort while embarking and disembarking the flights.
Also, the services will be a boon for the geriatric patients who cannot climb the stairs as the passenger cabin inside the Ambulift is fully air-conditioned. Currently cabin has no oxygen cylinder & other medical facilities, soon the facilities will be made available and he informed that it can be operated on all tyres of aircrafts.

He also informed that the airport is undergoing major infrastructural facelift in a bid to offer additional facilities to the air travellers.
Currently there are around 18-20 flights to and from Belagavi connecting Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Surat, Indore, Nashik, Pune, Jodhpur, Tirupati and Nagpur (Apr. 16)
