A new high-tech bus shelters in Belagavi failed to the recent rains – rain water began to leak from almost all newly installed smart bus shelters roof.
The Smart bus shelters were constructed at a cost of 2 Crores. And Rs 3 Lakhs were spent on installing each smart bus shelters in the city. Nearly 50 such bus shelters are installed in many routes of the City.
Passengers who waits in the bus shelters experiences water dripping from roofing sheets. People expressing doubts over the quality of construction. The 54-smart bus shelters were constructed with all the latest facilities are now being exposed.
Surprisingly, Belagavi Smart city authorities are least bothered in repairing the same. Due to poor design, these smart bus shelters failed to provide shelters to anyone in any weather.

These Smart Bus shelters are of 12 mtrs length with flamed finish granite flooring and seating arrangement. Digital Sign board, directional sinage, backlit, singage, cctv camera, Concrete Bollards, With e-toilets and Dust bin are being provided.
