The SWR is planning to attach a Vistadome coach to the CR Owned Ernakulam-Pune Express which passes via Belagavi. This will enable tourists and passengers to take a direct view of Braganza Ghats and a first hand glimpse of the mighty Dudhsagar falls.
There has been a long pending demand by Railfans and citizens to run a Vistadome Composed Train on this serene route, which has a great tourism potential and attracts tons of tourist in Monsoon.
The Vistadome tourist coach is provided with a larger viewing area including rooftop glasses with 44 seats for passengers with rotation up to180 degree to face the direction of train movement. The coach is also having a Wi-Fi-based Passenger information system.
The weekly Poorna Express takes Miraj, Belagavi, Londa, Castle Rock, Madgaon route to reach Ernakulam from Pune. The plan is to attach the Coach at Londa, thus enabling the services only between Londa & Madgaon and vice versa. The fare is yet to ascertained.
The Train runs passes through Belagavi on Sunday and Wednesday.
As a pilot project, Railways to attach attach one Vista Dome coach to the train, based on the response another vistadome coach would be attached.
