India’s Semi High Speed Train, “Vande Bharat Express” to run between Bengaluru-Hubballi and Belagavi soon says CM Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking at the occasion of inauguration of Belagavi Central Bus Station (CBS) on Tuesday, Bommai said that “One of the prestigious and modern train in India, Vande Bharat Express will be introduced between Bengaluru-Hubballi and Belagavi”.
If everything goes according to plan, First intra-state Vande Bharat train service will be between Bengaluru-Hubballi-Belagavi.
On November 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off South India’s first Vande Bharat train service between Mysuru and Chennai via Bengaluru.
About Vande Bharat Express : The Vande Bharat Express, previously known as Train 18, is a semi-high-speed, electric multiple unit train operated by the Indian Railways on 4 routes as of October 2022. It was designed and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) at Perambur, Chennai under the Make in India initiative. Construction of the first train took 18 months. The service was named ‘Vande Bharat Express’ on 27 January 2019,
Vande Bharat Express has a maximum commercial speed of 160 km/h. It exceeded 180 km/h during testing, but its tracks are not capable of supporting such high speeds; thus the train is operated at a maximum speed of 130 km/h (81 mph)
