India’s semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Express trains are likely to be operated between ten new routes over South Western Railway (SWR) system.
As per the circular, South Western Railway / South Central Railway / Southern Railways to introduce Vande Bharat Express trains on 10 new routes including much awaited Bengaluru-Belagavi.
New routes :
- Bengaluru-Belagavi (SWR)
- Bengaluru-Hospet (SWR)
- Bengaluru-Kachiguda (SCR)
- Bengaluru-Coimbatore (SCR/SWR)
- Bengaluru-Tirupati (SCR/SWR)
- Bengaluru-Madurai (SR/SWR)
- Bengaluru-Puducherry (SR/SWR)
- Bengaluru-Kalaburagi (SWR)
- Bengaluru-Shivamogga (SWR)
- Bidar-Hubballi (SWR/SCR)
Divisions are advised to furnish the availability of Infrastructure for maintenance and for handling of the above mentioned Vande bharat Trains to this Office before 18.00hrs of date.

This circular have been doing the rounds in railway groups for the past few days. Railway officials yet to confirm the same.

About Vande Bharat Express : Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18, is India’s first indigenous semi-high-speed train. It was designed and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The train was hailed as a significant milestone in the development of Indian railways and was flagged off for its inaugural run on February 15, 2019.
Vande Bharat Express embodies several modern features and technologies, including a fully air-conditioned intercity express design, automatic doors, onboard Wi-Fi, GPS-based passenger information system, bio-vacuum toilets, and a regenerative braking system for energy conservation.
The train initially operated between New Delhi and Varanasi, covering a distance of approximately 800 kilometers. Due to its success, the Indian Railways has planned to operate Vande Bharat Express on several new routes.
