The government to organize a special vaccination drive on Friday (Sept. 17) with the ambition of giving everyone a vaccine. In Belagavi district, It is aimed to vaccinate three lakh people on the same day. All preparations are being made for this vaccination drive successful – said District Collector MG Hiremath.
He was speaking on Wednesday (Sept. 15) with all Sub-Divisional Officers, Tahsildars and Heads of Urban Local Bodies regarding the preparations for the ‘Lasika Mela’ (Vaccination drive).
Belagavi district has taken highest target in the state, after Bangalore. Earlier, the special vaccination campaign in the district, one lakh doses were administered in a single day. He directed the authorities to make all arrangements, including the formation of necessary teams, to achieve the target of three lakh vaccines this time.
He said, In urban areas, the vaccine should be administered between 7am and 6pm. Similarly, arrangements should be made to start the vaccination program in rural areas.
Vaccines will be provided in all primary health centers, community health centers and all government hospitals. He also said that in every village and urban area of the district, people will be provided with vaccine centers at the ward level.
Nurses from BIMS, KLE hospitals will be deployed in vaccination drive. Similarly in the taluk centers, nursing staff will be deployed by discussions with private hospitals.
Information must be entered immediately upon vaccination. Parents and minority communities need to be vaccinated. People living in hilly areas and small villages should be vaccinated with mobile vaccine vehicles.
District Commissioner Hiremath instructed Tahsildar to publish full information about vaccination centers in each taluka through newspapers, TV channels and local cables.
Teachers of the Education Department should also be used to upload information. Not just the Department of Health; Officials of each department, including the Department of Education, Revenue, Rural Development, Women and Child Development, should work together to make the event a success by participating in the vaccine drive.
Anganwadi workers and supervisors should inform the people about the vaccine, take them to the Vaccination drive and take action to vaccinate them.
Survey of vaccine recipients :
Preliminary data on people who got vaccinated and yet to be vaccinated in the district will be collected through the survey. Similarly, when Data is collected from Urban local bodies will help to make vaccination drive succesful. The chief executive officer of the district panchayat, Darshan HV, said taluka-level officers should take action to gather the necessary information and create teams.
Requires the deployment of at least 1500 teams for vaccination. Therefore, they should seek the help of private hospitals, nursing colleges and other institutions in the taluka areas to form teams and assign them to the Vaccination. He directed that the public should be provided with advance information about the Vaccination drive by promoting the Vaccination drive in every village and urban local body.
