
The South western Railway, UBL Division has increased the Maximum speed of trains to 110Km/h between Ghataprabha and Chikkodi stations of Londa – Miraj section.
The speed of this section of trains has been significantly increased since Monday with track renovation and engineering work between Ghataprabha and Chikkodi sections. The permanent speed restriction has been lifted. The acceleration speed of trail of up and down line of this section or route have been increased to 120-124 km/h on August 05 (10% more than proposed).

Under the direction of the Railway Safety Commissioner (CRS), the department has completed all the safety work of the Hubli Division for three months in a record 22 days. Vinod Bampal, Chief Track Engineer, nominated by CRS for conducting speed trial and further authorization for raising sectional speed from 70/90 kmph to 110 kmph. The Hubli division carried out track related activities to ensure speed increase.
Principal Chief Engineer Vipula Kumara and DRM Aravind Malakheda were in charge of engineering.
