Minister of Public works & District minister Satish Jarkiholi has proposed to merge eight villages attached to the city with Belagavi City Corporation.
As per the minister instructions eight villages namely, Hindalga, Nilaji, Benakanahalli, Peeranwadi, Kangrali Khurd, Kangali Budruk, Kakati, and Macche will be under City Corporation Limits and he has asked officials to prepare the proposal.
Bringing these eight villages to the corporation limits may add-up population by 1 lakh and number of wards will be increase by 10 or more. And infrastructure like Road, Drains and other facilities will be provided like in existing wards.
According to minister Satish Jarkiholi, “It is very critical to merge the villages with BCC and prepare an overall broader masterplan for the city’s development. I have instructed officials to start work on the proposal as soon as possible.”
