
With the state government imposing stringent restrictions for the 14 days, the Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) has decided to set up temporary vegetable markets in Two location of the city. The farmers, who come from the rural areas, will have to sell their produce at these designated vegetable markets.
“We have already started the process of decentralising vegetable markets in the city as per the new government order to ensure social distancing and other appropriate Covid behaviours are followed,” said City Corporation official’s.
The arrangements have been made for temporary markets at the CBT Ground and AutoNagar area in Belagavi. According to the city Corporation, the Belagavi APMC Vegetable market will be completely closed and the market will be shifted to Auto Nagar and CBT Ground for the safety of the people. The announcement via loudspeakers was made on Thursday afternoon to inform the public.
Other major markets, such as Ganapathi Galli and Maruti Galli, will also be shifted to nearby grounds, according to city officials.
