Belagavi: To promote adoption of electric vehicles, Tata Power has installed a fast-charging station here on the occasion of Dassara festival.
The charging station has been installed on the premises of Fairfield at Marriott Hotel, Kakati village on Bangalore-Pune NH4 highway. Powered by solar, this fast-charging unit is one of the 600 charging stations set up across the country by Tata Power. It is also the first such unit in Belagavi.
It has been set up by Tata Power in association with Gogte Urja, a division of Gogte infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. The station was inaugurated by KLES chairman Prabhakar Kore. This unique and eco-friendly initiative is in line with Tata Power’s vision of setting up EV charging stations nation-wide to enhance green mobility and reduce carbon foot print.
Tata Power is also partnering with companies like MG Motor India, Land Rover India and Tata Motors to build better infrastructure for EVs. The charging station at Marriott will come in handy for EV users as round the clock service is available. Both two and four wheelers can get charged here.
Sandeep Bangia, head – EV charging, Tata Power, said, “We are extremely glad to associate with Gogte Urja. Through this, we mark our entry into the Belagavi EV ecosystem and consider this as our next step towards building a sustainable infrastructure for EV users. By enabling easy access to EV chargers, we aim to strengthen its adoption and will continue to offer pleasant experience to electric vehicle users.”
