The training on trades such as fitter, electrician, machinist, welder and computer applications are being offered free of cost by South Western Railway, Basic Training Centre, Carriage & Repair Workshop, Hubballi, Mysuru and Multi-Disciplinary Training Centre Institute, Bengaluru under Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana aegis of Pradhanmantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna.
Training of 1st Batch for each trade has started on 13.09.2021 and will be conclude on 05.10.2021. Training of 2nd Batch for each trade will start on 18.10.2021 and end on 09.11.2021. The certificate to trainees will be provided by Ministry of Railways at the end of the course.
Under this plan Ministry of Railways has targeted to train 50,000 youths, so that they are skilled and become capable to get employed or start their own entrepreneurial venture.

Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology has launched these training courses at 75 training institutes all over the country.
The training scheme has been titled Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana and is aimed to impart skilling training to unemployed youth in remote areas. It is expected that Adivasis, dalit, poor youth of backward and remote areas will benefit from these training courses and gain employable skills. It is a pioneer initiative of Ministry of Railways in the framework of Skill India mission.
