The construction of the Super-Specialty Hospital in Belagavi City at a cost of Rs 140 crore is nearing completion and likely to be inaugurated within next four months.
On Tuesday (21 June), Belagavi North MLA Anil Benake, Regional Commissioner Amlan Biswas, Main Surgeon of BIMS A.B. Patil inspected the work of the Super-Speciality Hospital in the premises of Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) along with the Contractor.
The hospital project was commissioned in 2018. Hospital construction has slowed for a year due to epidemics and rain. The hospital building is being built up to four floors. It is planned to have four divisions in one floor and there will be total of eight divisions in the hospital.
The first floor to have the Department of Neurology, Neuro Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Indo Chronology. Second floor to have Gastrology, Nephrology, Surgical Gastrology departments. The third floor will be the VIP Room and the General Room, while the fourth floor will have Operation Theaters.

The Super Multi Specialty Hospital will be completed in four months. After consultations with contractors and engineers, MLA Benake said the work would be completed by August or September.
He said, The Mother & Childs care hospital, Trauma center and a Nursing college will also be opened within the next three months. The hospital is free to patients not only for Belagavi regional but also for patients from all over Goa and Maharashtra.
Also after inspecting the hospital work, MLA Anil Beneke, in consultation with Regional Commissioner Aditya Amlan Biswas, has asked contractor to complete the first two-storey works within three months and the remaining two-storey work in next five months.
