
Star Air today commenced the direct daily flight operations from Belagavi to Nashik, under the RCS-UDAN (Regional Connectivity Scheme – Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) of Government of India. Inaugurated under the UDAN scheme. Belagavi airport has become one of the Busiest airport in the country. About 5780 flights have ferried more than 2,50,000 people from the airport.
Due to the unavailability of any direct transportation mode between these two cities, people had to travel either by road or had to opt for a rail journey combined with a road trip, which took more than 12 hours Now, people can opt for a direct flight and cover this long-distance journey in just 60 mins.

Inauguration was started with lighting of sacred candle (diya) and cake cutting by Sh. Rajesh Kumar Maurya, Airport Director: Belagavi Airport, Smt. Veena R Shrinivas, Postmaster General: NK Region Dhaward, Shri Simran Singh Tivana: CEO – Ghodawat Group, Shri Rajkumar Pattar, Security Head:APSU, KSISF, Belagavi Airport, Ms. Komal Jani, Station Manager, M/s. Star Air.
During this event Supdt. of Posts, Asst. Supdt. of Posts, Belagavi Division & other Senior Officials of Postal Department, Senior officials of Belagavi Airport, AAI and Officials of M/s.Star Air were also present during the historic event of release of cover page by Postal Department.

Cultural programme and dance were presented by the students of APTEC Aviation, Belagavi to celebrate the commencement of Nasik sector.
Sh. Rajesh Kumar Maurya, Airport Director, Belagavi Airport, offered his gratitude to all Hon’ble MPs, MLAs & MLCs, District Administration & Police Administration, all citizens, Chamber of Commerce, Professional forum, Universities/Technical Institutes, Commercial/Business/Industrial Institutes of Belagavi city. He added that total 28 operations (arrival & departure) on an average per day from Belagavi Airport and connected with 12 different cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Tirupati, Mysuru, Kadapa, Indore, Surat, Chennai & Nasik.

The Star Air flight (OG 145/146) will operate on three days i.e. Monday, Thursday and Sunday from Belagavi to Nasik departure at 1640 IST (Monday & Thursday), 0915 IST on Sunday and arrival from Nasik to Belagavi at 1915 IST( Monday & Friday)& 1145 IST(Sunday).

Total out going passenger from Belagavi Airport is 30 out of 50 seater Embrar Aircraft.
The airline, Star Air was awarded the Belagavi – Nashik route under the RCS-UDAN-3 bidding process last year. The airline will be operating three weekly flights on the route and has deploy its 50-seater Embraer-145 aircraft.
