Star Air, a leading regional airline, has completed a successful proving flight for its newly acquired Embraer E175 aircraft. Flight S5 170 departed Bengaluru International Airport at 13:42 hrs on May 9, 2023 and landed at Hyderabad International Airport an hour and fourteen minutes later. The return flight S5 171 departed Hyderabad at 17:03 hrs and landed back at Bengaluru at 18:45 hrs.
The Embraer E175 is a state-of-the-art regional jet with advanced technology, exceptional fuel efficiency, and a spacious cabin that can comfortably accommodate up to 76 passengers. The aircraft is equipped with advanced avionics, including fly-by-wire controls and a glass cockpit, which provide a high level of safety and operational efficiency.
The proving flight was conducted by a team of highly experienced pilots and engineers along with DGCA officials who thoroughly tested the aircraft’s performance and systems as well as the airline’s procedures, SoPs and compliance with regulatory requirements. The flight demonstration covers all aspects of flight such as takeoff, climb, cruise, descent and landing, and various flight modes, to demonstrate the aircraft’s capabilities in different scenarios as well as operational preparedness of ground teams in dealing regular operations as well as contingencies.
Following the successful completion of the proving flight, Star Air is now ready to begin commercial operations with the Embraer E175. The aircraft will be deployed on regional routes, providing passengers with a comfortable and efficient travel experience.
