
The State government withdrawn order on shifting the office of Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Limited (KNNL) to Belagavi from Dharwad.
The order, which was criticised by the Opposition and opposed strongly by farmers organisations, was withdrawn on Monday
Veeresh Sobaradmath Swami, president of the Raita Sena said that We requested government to shift Bengaluru offices to Belagavi’s suvarna soudha, but shifting exiting North karnataka offices to suvarna soudha is condemnable.
On Sunday, a delegation led by Sobaradmath Swami and advocate and activist B.D. Hiremath met Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi in Belagavi asking him to allow the KNNL office to continue to work in Dharwad. Mr. Jarkiholi had assured them of requisite action.

However people of Belagavi are upset with the decision. And Netizens expressing anger in social medias – ‘When there is no Dams, No river originates from Dharwad still why there is need of KNNL office’

As of now as many as 23 district level offices shifted to Suvarna soudha but demand was to shift State level government offices, The only state level office which was shifted to Suvarna soudha is Information commission bench. People of Belagavi are in hope to welcome Bengaluru offices.
