Aerostructres Assemblies India Pvt. Ltd (AAIPL) is a Joint Venture (JV) between AEQUS Pvt. Ltd (74%) and SAAB Aero structures (26%) of Sweden. The JV was formed with an objective to develop a mutually beneficial assembly capability within India. AAIPL incepted in Nov-2012 whereas the Operations started in 2013 and the first assemblies shipped out in 2014. AAIPL plant has a built-up area of 25,500 square feet with plans to increase capacity to 60,000 square feet in the future. AAIPL mainly offers Build-to-Print (BTP) manufacturing services for Commercial & Aerospace Programs. AAIPL currently manufactures aerostructure assemblies of size up to 4 meter X 2 meter, weighing up to 150 kilograms. As part of the assembly business requirement, AAIPL puts high emphasis on training its employees. AAIPL has established robust training programs for its employees to ensure the required skill levels always.
SQuAD
SQuAD Forging India Private Ltd. is a joint venture between Aequs Pvt.Ltd. (India) and Aubert & Duval (ERAMET, France)
SQuAD Forging primarily aims at the aerospace market to support major OEMs in their supply chain while contributing to their offset obligations. It specializes in forging of small to medium-sized aero-structural parts, engine, landing gear and braking system components in aluminium, steel, titanium or nickel base alloys for the aerospace market. SQuAD also handles highly critical products for other markets such as Automotive, Power Generation and Oil & Gas. SQuAD is certified for ISO 9001 & AS9100 and ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Heat Treatment lines are NADCAP certified.
Latecoere
On September 10, Latécoère has unveiled its new plant in Belagavi, India, in the state of Karnataka. The new site completes the Latécoère group’s production system of harness equipment and should reach a workforce of 300 by 2022.
With a total surface area of 4,400 sqm, the new site is dedicated to the manufacturing of the Radio Navigation harnesses for Falcon 2000 and for the future, its main harness as well as the avionics harnesses for Thales for aircraft such as Boeing B777, B737 and Airbus A320, as well as many other airlines (Emirates, British Airways and Qatar).
The first delivery took place in August 2019 to the Latécoère site in Liposthey, France, in order to finalize the manufacturing of the Radio Navigation harnesses for Falcon 2000.
This event opens a new chapter for Latécoère’s development in India, alongside two prestigious names in aerospace, Dassault Aviation and Thales.
Aerospace Processing India (API)
Aerospace Processing India Pvt Ltd (API) is a joint venture between Aequs and Magellan Aerospace. The company provides aerospace surface treatments that are not readily available in India. The fully integrated, scalable facility is located at Aequs SEZ in Belagavi, Karnataka, India and has been fully functional since 2009. This is the first and only third party facility in India be approved by both Airbus and Boeing. API was the first in India to achieve NADCAP accreditation for Chemical Processing, Surface Enhancement and NDT, which is widely demanded across the aerospace industry. API is also AS9100 Rev D and ISO 14001-2004 & BS OHSAS 18001:2007 certified.
