Continuous rain in Belagavi district has caused potholes on the Sankeshwar-Nippani section of the Belagavi-Kolhapur Highway, causing inconvenience for commuters.
The entire stretch is full of potholes and the road is in a dilapidated condition. Water, accumulated in potholes causing hassles.
The heavy rains lashing the Belagavi district has created havoc in many parts, including big damages to the roads. Commuters using the Bengaluru-Pune National Highway (NH4) are upset on authorities for not maintaining the stretch properly.
Meanwhile, motorists using this stretch of this national highway complained to union minister of Highways Nitin Gadkari on twitter and said ‘What about horrible condition of roads on way to Sankeshwar NH4 highway, Where it’s risky for cars to drive on potholes road @nitin_gadkari’. Another twitter user said ‘Just Now i came , Heavy Rain,low visibility, Worst condition of the road…’
Another twitter user complained that ‘Authorities collect a huge amount of money in the name of toll, but the road had not been maintained’
The NHAI needs to come up with an immediate solution to avoid further mishaps due to these potholes.
