Sangolli Rayanna was hanged by the British at Nandgad in Khanapur taluk in Belagavi is being developed as rock garden in order to convert it as historical tourist place.
National level Training school – Sangolli Rayanna Sainik Training school and Rock Garden which displays the history of Sangolli Rayanna are under construction and has reached final stage.

The then chief minister Siddaramaiah earmarked Rs 267.7 crore to build a Sainik School and develop infrastructure to promote Sangolli, Rayanna’s birthplace, as a tourist destination.
A Sainik School, on a 70-acre land, a garden depicting the life and times of Rani Channamma and Rayanna, indoor and outdoor stadium, a museum and development of a lake at Nandgad, where Rayanna was hanged from the gallows by the British, are among the projects, work on which has now reached final stage.

Sainik school which houses Hostel facility, Canteen, Library for 1st standard to 6th standard students and to have Professors Quarters, Auditorium and quarter’s for Staff. In addition, a big playground has been built in a 30-acre land, and a playground for all sports in indoor and outdoor swimming pool, horse riding, hockey, kabaddi, volleyball, cricket etc.

10 acres Rock Garden is being designed with more than 1600 statues depicting the life history of Kranthivir Sangolli Rayanna and Kittur Chennamma. The statues depict the history of the Sangolli Royanna’s fight, including the juggling house, the wrestling grounds, the Veerabhadra Temple, the Durbar Hall and the battle scenes with the British.
Garden is almost ready and to be made open for public in December 2021.
