Temple of goddess Renuka Yellamma in Saundatti is one of the top 10 revenue earning temples in the state and the government has envisaged developing temple on the line of Kashi Vishwanath temple.
Ratna Anand Mamani, the wife of late BJP MLA and deputy speaker of Assembly Anand Mamani on Wednesday (14th Dec) met CM Basavaraj Bommai in Hubballi and submitted Rs.100 crore master plan prepared for development of the temple.
She informed that, Through the efforts of Late Anand Mamani, development of Shri Renuka Devi temple is being proposed in Savadatti, Belagavi District. we have submitted the master plan to CM Bommai, he has directed to submit the same to government for the approval.

About Yallamma Temple : Yellamma Temple, also known as Renuka Temple, is a temple of Goddess Renuka and a pilgrimage destination located about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) away from the town of Saundatti, Belagavi District in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is situated on a hilltop known earlier as Siddhachal Parvat and now known as “Yellamma Gudda”, named after the temple.
The temple was built in 1514 by Bomappa Nayaka of Raybag (Bommappa Nayaka of Raibog).According to archaeological evidence found around the temple, a temple existed here either during the early Rashtrakuta or late Chalukyan period from the mid-8th to the mid-11th centuries.
The hill on which the Yellamma Temple sits is part of the Sidhachal or Ramagiri range, oriented east–west and overlooking the Malaprabha river near the town of Savadatti. While the temple 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) away from the town, the town itself is 112 kilometres (70 mi) away from Belagavi, the district headquarters.
