
Royal Dutch Shell, India opening its First fuel station in Nehru Nagar in Belagavi city shortly. This development takes Shell’s total operational fuel stations in India to 200+ of which 80 are in Karnataka.
Shell is one of the most diversified international energy company in India with over 8500 employees and presence across upstream, integrated gas, downstream, renewable energy, and deep capabilities in R&D, digitalization and business operations. With a retail presence across six states – Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Assam Shell is expanding its network of fuel stations across the country.

The Indian fuel retail market is heavily dominated by the country’s state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs). Reliance Industries owns 1,400 outlets while Essar Oil, which was recently acquired by Russia’s Rosneft, owns 3,499. Shell is the only foreign player.
Shell have a plan to get up to 1,500 retail stations in India, as a reason shell to set up more fuel stations in Belagavi in coming days

As of now Shell’s first fuel station in Belagavi is under construction in nehru nagar beside Ramdev International, soon this station will be made functional.
