Member of Legislative Council from Chikkodi, Prakash Hukkeri submitted a request to Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to start daily flights from Belagavi to New Delhi and Shirdi.
MLC Prakash Hukkeri and a team of activists met the Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia who arrived at Ganeshawadi village in Maharashtra, which is adjacent to the Karnataka border and submitted a request letter.
He mentioned that Belagavi Airport has been a convenient stop for travelers from this region for many years to travel to different states. Belagavi has many important education and training centres – Maratha Light Infantry Regiment Centre, TA Battalion, Military Hospital and J.L.Wing mainly operating in Belagavi city, for the staff of these offices and passengers working in various industries in this area to travel to the main offices in New Delhi require a non-stop Belagavi-Delhi daily flight.

Similarly, Shirdi in the state of Maharashtra a popular destination where by devotees go to Sri Sai Baba Darshan. For the convenience of devotees, the people of the border area have demanded that a daily flight should be started between Belagavi-Shirdi. Legislative Council member Prakash Hukkeri requested that the minister should immediately start flights on Belagavi-New Delhi and Belagavi-Shirdi routes.
