Pm to launch ‘Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ on march 12 | Curtain-raiser event at Kittur, Belagavi

A three-week long festival will be held across the country beginning March 12 as part of celebrations to mark 75 years of independence, officials said Tuesday. During the ’Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav’, to be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, commemoration activities will be held in every state and Union Territory where India’s glorious history, culture, technological development and digital intervention will be showcased.

Belagavi District commissioner MG Hiramath on Thursday said that The celebrations will mark the anniversary of Dandi March’ and there shall be a curtain-raiser event in different locations across the country including Kittur, Belagavi on the same day. The commemorations will include 75 events for 75 weeks with one prominent event every week and the programmes will be planned at 75 places or monuments of historical significance spread across states and UTs.

Speaking at a presidential meeting in Belagavi on Thursday, MG Hiremath said the event will be held at 75 locations across the country. Belagavi is one of the two locations in Karnataka.

Queen Kittur Channamma’s role in the War of Independence is significant. Against this backdrop, a ceremony will be held at the Kittur Fort premises. Representatives will attending the event. Bicycle rally is being organized from Kittur to Nandagada. 75 cyclists will participate. He also said they would visit the houses of freedom fighters in the middle of the route.

For the next 75 weeks, all urban local bodies and Hobli’s in the district will host the events where contribution of these places and freedom fighters will be displayed.

What is Bharat ka Amrut Mahotsav :

The central government will start the “Amrit Mahotsav of India” from March 12th. This festival is a kind of countdown for the 75th year of India’s independence.

The Government of India has decided to start celebrating 75 years of Indian independence 75 weeks before 15 August 2022. The festival aims to create a vision for India @ 2047. Various social and cultural programs will be organized in this festival along with demonstrations of technical and scientific achievements. Apart from this, the contribution of some unknown places and some freedom fighters will be displayed in this event.
