On Tuesday (November 7), Assembly Speaker UT Khader and Chairman of the Karnataka Legislative Council Basavaraj Horatti conducted a review of the preparations for the winter session of the Legislature, which is scheduled to take place in December at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi.
They instructed the officials from the Public Works Department to ensure that Suvarna Vidhana Soudha receives proper maintenance, following the example set by Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru.
After surveying the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha building, Speaker UT Khader recommended improvements to certain areas of the west entrance. Additionally, he proposed developing a long-term plan to ensure the proper upkeep of the Suvarna Soudha all year round.
He directed the officials to ensure that all necessary infrastructure, such as loudspeakers, cleanliness, seating arrangements, electricity, internet connection, TV screens, and computers, were provided during the session. and a big screen TV should be installed in the assembly hall. He said that a chart displaying the name and seat number of all MLAs should be installed in front of the Speaker’s chair.
