The agency that has bagged the tender to handle vehicle parking at the NWKRTC’s Belagavi Central bus stand has been collecting 3 times the tariff thats approved by the corporation.
According to NWKRTC officials, the fee for parking a two wheeler for upto two hours is ₹5. However, private agency is collecting flat ₹20 for parking between 1 min to half day. As a result, it’s affecting to those who park for a few minutes to pick up or drop travellers.
In a response to a question raised by ‘Belagavi infra’ on parking fees on twitter, NWKRTC Officials tweeted that ‘The Parking fees for two wheeler is Rs. 5/- up to 2 Hrs. & Rs. 10/- for 2-6 Hrs. & Rs. 30/- for 6-12 Hrs. & Rs. 50/- per day charges’. Which means the Agency is Charging Rs.15 extra from the public who park their vehicle for short visit.
Many people have so far lodged oral complaints, but no step has been taken to resolve the matter. The private agency had been asked to display the parking fee through hoardings, which he had not done.
