In view of increasing the green cover over Belagavi city, which is fast losing its trees to infrastructure projects, Belagavi North MLA Anil Benake has decided to plant 1,00,000 trees in Entire Belagavi North Constituency.
MLA Anil Benake chaired meeting with the Divisional Forest Officer and Range Forest Officer to take up Plantation drive of one lakh trees in entire Belagavi North Constituency.
The trees will be a mix of both fruit-bearing plants and large shade trees with a high capability to absorb dust.
Trees will be planted in Premises of Schools, Colleges, Hospitals, Government Offices and Court. And large shade trees will be planted at the sides and medians of the city roads.
