The state transport department has implemented a new experiment called the ICU on wheels, Oxygen on wheels. The bus which which is equipped with all required instruments/facilities for treating Patients. There has been a good response from the people said Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Laxman Savadi.
Speaking on the occasion of the handing over of the ambulance made by the Department of Transport to the Health Department on Saturday in Athani, he said the old buses have been utilised for converting to Ambulance at the cost of about Rs. 10 lakh and has four bed ICU (Intensive care unit) with oxygen ventilator facility. Such ambulances are very helpful in the rural areas where facilities are less. Ambulance will have doctors, nurses and also pharmacies, injections.
Minister said, as now I have now been granted one. If necessary, more ambulances will be sanctioned in coming days.
Minister said, This facility is already available in Bengaluru, Raichur, Belagavi and Koppal districts. Each MLA and Vidhan Sabha members are requested that such a Bus Ambulances be purchased from our department with their mla/mp development funds.
