Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Laxman Savadi on Monday said that there will no hike in fares for buses operated by Karnataka Road Transport Corporation Metropolitan Transport Corporation (KSRTC), at least for the time being.
The Minister said in Athani said, “We don’t like to hike bus fares citing an increase in fuel cost, during this Covid 19 pandemic for the time being, we do not want to burden poor”
He added that the four road transport corporations (RTCs) have suffered a loss of over ₹4,000 crore on account of the pandemic.
