Airports Authority of India, which manages 137 airports, which include 24 International Airports (including 3 International Civil Enclaves), 10 Customs Airports (including 4 Customs Civil Enclaves), 80 Domestic Airports and 23 Domestic Civil Enclaves at Defence airfields has failed to update information of few Airports which includes Belagavi Airport in their only website aai.aero.com.
Belagavi Airport is the third Busiest Airport in Karantaka with monthly movement of More than 750 Aircrafts and More than 35,000 people. Also has general cargo movement.
Outdated information : The portal is intended to provide information of each Airport, but failed to update the same. Which includes information of Terminal Capacity, Check in counters, Terminal Area, Parking Bays, Runway length, Aircraft catagory etc.

Also Details of Conveniences, Tourist places, Transportation, Hotels, Achievements, etc are yet to be updated for Belagavi Airport. It may be noted that the upgraded Airport has all passenger friendly amenities.

Passenger friendly Amenities : The Belagavi Airport was upgraded and Inaugurated in 2017 at the cost of Rs.120 Crores. The upgradation work was taken up in February 2015. In involved extension of the runway, construction of a new isolation bay, taxiway, apron for three A-320 aircraft and new ATC tower. The runway has been extended by 475 meters to 2,330 meters, which would allow it to handle Airbus A320. The new terminal building, spread over 3,600 sq meters, has been designed to handle 320 passengers against the earlier capacity of 180. It has all essential passenger friendly amenities and conveniences and is provided with CUTE-enabled Check-in Counters, Baggage Conveyors, Elevator, Public Address System, Fire Fighting & Fire Alarm System, Flight Information Display System (FIDS), CCTV, Baggage scanners and Car parking etc.

No response : AAI has added various Airports Information, except few Airports which includes Belagavi too. Our team ‘Belagavi infra‘ had requested AAI through Mail and Also requested Airport Director for the same last year. But it remains unchanged.
Belagavi Airport is one of the oldest Airport India which was commissioned in 1942 by RAF, The RAF used the airport as a training site during World War II, providing support to the South East Asia Command. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) took control of the airport in 1956, followed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation in 1962.
