Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 5 National Highway projects road projects for a length of 238 km, at an estimated cost of Rs.3972 crore, at a function to be held at District Stadium in Belagavi on Monday, February 28.
The programme, which will begin at 10 am, will be attended by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Union Minister for parliamentary affairs, Coal & Mines Prahlad Joshi. Introductory speech by Minister of Public Works Department of Karnataka C C Patil. Accompanied by Union Minister of state for road transport and highways & Civil aviation Dr. V K Singh, Union minister of states for Electronics and Information technology & for skill development and entrepreneurship Rajeev Chandrashekhar, Union Minister of state for Agriculture and Farmers welfare Kum. Shobha Karandlaje. Union minister of state for social justice and empowerment A Narayanswamy, Union minister of State for new and renewable energy and Chemicals & Fertilizers Bhagwan Khuba, Union Minister of state for Ports, Shipping & waterways and Tourism Shripad Yesso Naik at the venue on Monday.
Projects through NHAI :
1. 6-laning of Belgaum-Sankeshwar Bypass from Km. 515.000 to Km. 555.017 (Package-1) on NH-48. Project lengh 40.017 km and Cost Rs.1479.3 Cr.

2. 6-laning of Sankeshwar Bypass -Maharashtra Border from Km. 555.017 to Km. 592.853 (Package-II) on NH-48. Project lengh 37.836 km and Cost Rs.1388.7 Cr.

3. Two laning of Sanquelim-Jamboti-Belagavi Road on NH-748AA. Project lengh 69.17 km and Cost Rs.246.78 Cr.
These 3 projects of 147.023. Km to cost Rs.3114.78 Cr. will be inaugurated.
Projects through NH wing of PWD (MoRTH) :

1. 2 Lane with paved shoulder from Km 0.00 to 80.00 Vijayapura – Murgundy of NH-548B. Project lengh 79.7 km and Cost Rs.766.64 Cr.
2. Widening to 2 lane with PS from Km.0 to 11.62 of NH-561A from Siddapur to Vijayapur. Project lengh 11.62 km and Cost Rs.90.13 Cr.
These 2 projects of 91.32. Km to cost Rs.856 Cr. will be inaugurated.
With this total of 5 highway project’s of 238.343 km length of cost Rs.3971.55 Cr. will be inaugurated.
