Home minister Basavaraj Bommai gave kickstart to the construction of new building for Belagavi police commissioner’s office in two acre land at city police line, college road, Belagavi at the cost of Rs 17 crore.
After Performing Bhoomi Pooja he Speake to the media, ‘It has been a long pending demand for the full fledged office of the Commissioner. That has been fulfilled now. Two acres of land in the center of the city have been choosen for the construction of Well equipped building, would be completed within the stipulated time’., he said.
Bommai upset on Building design :
Viewing the New Police Commissioner office plan map, he was disappointed on the contractor for his plan. “You are not constructing any govt hostel here, it is prestigious Police Commisioner office, Plan could have been better” Minister said to contractor. Also he instructed some changes in the building design.

Rajya Sabha member Eranna Kadadi, MLA Anil Benake, BJP Rural District unit president SanjayaPatil, KSRP ADGP Alok Kumar, Uttar Pradesh IGP Raghavendra Suhas, Urban Police Commissioner K Thyagarajan and SP Laxman Nimbari were present in the work inauguration function.
