Karnataka State Animal Husbandry & Veterinary services department has built the Multi-Speciality Veterinary Hospital and Veterinary Training Centre on Kanabargi road in Malmaruthi Extension, Belagavi.
Two acres out of 16 acres land belonging to the department adjacent to the Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers Federation Limited (KMF) office in Mahantesh Nagar have been utilised to build this State-of-the-art Hospital and Veterinary Training Centre.
The Multi-Speciality Veterinary Hospital has built up area of 15,000 sq.ft, has sperate rooms meant for surgeries, medicine dispensary, gynaecology and cardiac care, ortho, x-ray, scanning and other care facilities for animals. And Veterinary Training Centre was built in 3000 Sqft area at the total estimated cost of Rs.4 crores.
Hospital has been equipped with advanced veterinary medical equipment. An Intensive Care unit (ICU) has been set up at the Super Specialty Hospital to care for animals seriously injured in accidents. On the ground floor, outpatient and inpatient units has been made for dogs, cats and other small pets as well as large cattle such as cattle and buffaloes.

The hospital likely to have 70+ staff, including 8 specialist doctors. The medical officer of the post of deputy director will be in charge of the hospital.

The hospital to cater service to the 7 districts of Belagavi Division : Belagavi, Dharwad, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Gadag, Haveri and Uttara Kannada districts.
