The Belagavi district, which has been dreaming of development, has been granted a state-of-the-art Technology Centre by Central goverment has remained a non-starter.
It has been two years that the Central team has visited Belagavi for identifying land, but the state government has failed to allot land for the proposed Technology Centre in Belagavi.
Though the facility was initially planned at the Kittur Industrial Estate, The location was later proposed near Peeranwadi as it was far away from the city. However even now seems no location have been finalized.
The proposed technology center will have the facilities like skill development Center, residential industrial training school/college for minimum 1000 students, Incubation Center, tool room, advanced manufacturing facilities for subcontracting the jobs of all industrial units and to support the MSME’s in and around Belagavi District which is going to also help the Engineering Students & startup’s. The central government has planned to invest all these facilities with an approximate investment of 200 to 300 crores.
