Belagavi south MLA Abhay Patil on Friday during session demanded government to focus on bringing more industries to Belagavi district and create employment opportunities for the youths of this region.
MLA said, The government of karnataka has announced Beyond Bengaluru but it is unfortunate that Beyond Bengaluru benefits applying only till Hubballi-Dharwad and not beyond these cities. Hence i request government of karnataka to initiate ‘Beyond Hubballi’ in North Karnataka so that Belagavi will get some industries.
He said that, Except Hindalco industry, no big investment that has happened in Belagavi in last 25 years so i request government to focus more on border district Belagavi and solve unemployment problems.
Abhay Patil pointed that Industry minister Murugesh Nirani has approved many industries to Belagavi in his previous tenure, but this time it is being neglected.

He also informed that the we Mla MPs of Belagavi district along with the members of the Belagavi Chamber of commerce and other industry associations have met CM Basavaraj Bommai to demand for the necessary action for the betterment and Development of Belagavi District.

The industrial bodies here upset with state government for the step motherly treatment towards Belagavi and they informed that Maharashtra is inviting industrialists from Belagavi to invest there. They have promised a low cost for land, and rebate in tax. The government of Goa also invited industrialists from Belagavi, promising them single-window clearance and other facilities. Hence i request CM to form special industry policy for border district Belagavi and create facilities to bring automobile industies.
