Mla Abhay Patil and Swachh Bharat team of Belagavi on Sunday threw garbage infornt of Commissioner residence from several areas of Tilakwadi which have not been collected by City Corporation.
They expressed angry by protesting against lack of garbage pick up service in the area by the Belagavi Municipal Corporation (BCC) by dumping garbage infront of City corporation Commissioner K H Jagadish Residence in Visheshwarayya Nagar.
Citizens had complained about irregularity in the door to door garbage collection over the past three months. By observing Civic body’s carelessness, Mla Abhay Patil had warned earlier to collect garbage on daily bases. However, still they continued to work in similar fashion.
Fed up of piling garbage at many places in the Tilakwadi area, about 10-15 members of Swachh Bharat team along with Mla Abhay Patil decided to block the gate of City Corporation commissioner residence by dumping garbage next to gate on Sunday morning.

Mla Abhay Patil said that, ‘Three month ago corporation officials were warned to maintain cleanliness in the city but there was no improvement, garbage is at every corner of city. The officials have failed to keep up their promise and taken common man for granted, have also warned them that every Sunday a tractor full of garbage will be dumped infront of their house if they fail to maintain cleanliness’.
