
A military memorial to come up near the railway station (Near Gogte Circle) in the heart of the city to honour and remember soldiers of Indian Armed Forces who gave the supreme sacrifice for the nation.
The memorial will be set up at a cost of ₹ 1.50 crore and the work has begun on Wednesday. The Site was cleaned to start the work to develop a fascinating military memorial.

The project is being implemented under the leadership of MLA Anil Benake of the Northern constituency. Permission was granted at the Cantonment General Meeting with Directors and intended to make the city a new tourist destination.

Belagavi’s contribution to the Indian Army is immense. Young soldiers are being trained and mobilized in the Maratha Light Infantry (MLIRC), Airman Training School and Commando Training Centers. Thousands of trainees have been serving in various departments of the army since ancient times. For now, it is hoped that the military memorial will be a new attraction.
