Pune – Bengaluru Expressway Green field alignment from km.201.000 to km.696.400 in the state of Karnataka under Bharathmala Phase-II.
Pune-Bengaluru Expressway project getting made at an estimated cost of Rs 50,000 crore and covering 12 districts is underway.
The distance between Pune and Bangalore is 842.1 km and currently, the road travel takes around 14 to 15 hours.
The road travel time between Pune/Mumbai and Bengaluru will be reduced to 95 kms due to this project.

The 12 districts that will be covered in this project include, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Belagavi, Bagalkot, Gadag, Koppal, Vijayanagara, Davanagere, Chitradurga, Tumakuru as well as Bengaluru Rural.


The alignment of the new expressway is so far off from NH48 (approx 90 kms from Belgavi and Hubli) that it is virtually useless to the people of Belgavi and Hubli wanting to travel to Pune or Mumbai
Already there is NH48 from Belagavi City to Pune, There is no need of another expressway again.
New expressway connects Athani, Mudhol, Rabakavi etc.
