Member of Parliament Smt. Mangal Suresh Angadi on Wednesday demanded to the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation to connect Balagavi with more cities and Start the cargo services.
She has informed that Under Rule 377, had an opportunity to speak in the Loksabha ,The subject chosen was Starting of new routes from Belagavi airport, improvement of air connectivity and Cargo services.
MP demanded for starting flights between Belagavi-Bengaluru (morning flight,), Gorakhpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, Shirdi and Varanasi and also she insisted on start of Cargo services.
“Belagavi airport having been established and operated since days of pre independence, with city being educationally forward, The establishment of Universities like VTU and RCU besides several Engineering colleges, Medical Colleges, Dental Colleges, has prestigious KLE hospital being located in the city and City is being Industrially forward. it’s been the demand to start the daily flights to new cities” :

“Also to start cargo services, as Belagavi city has Goa and Maharashtra States as it’s immediate neighbours. The potential for the growth of IT BT Companies is exponential and City is also the hub of Industrial activities beside many people from North Karnataka visit the religious places situated in North India parts every month.”
“Hence I request honourable Minister of Civil Aviation to look into the matter towards early start of flight services and starting of cargo services is need of the hour”
