
The long-standing demand of the traders and industrialists of North Karnataka fulfilled with the launch of Limited air cargo service from Belagavi. The Airport Authority of India has given a green signal for the freight service and at present SpiceJet passenger fights (Q400) are carrying goods from/to Belagavi to major cities of the country.
“Permission had been granted to Spice Jet to carry cargo in their passenger flights. Necessary facilities had been provided for this additional service. Businessmen from Belagavi could transport their products, Documents to other cities and similarly, they could also get products from other cities to Belagavi”

Also he said that, In coming days, IndiGo, Trujet, Alliance air and Star air will be operating cargo from Belagavi
As per official data, Belagavi airport handled 24.5 Tonnes of freight from June 2019 till February 2020. and from March 2020 till September handled a freight of 23 Tonnes approximately.

A dedicated cargo terminal or shed have been planned in Belagavi Airport which is awaiting for green signal from Airport authority of India. Domestic cargo of size 4000 Sqm (43,000 Sqft) shed have been planned.
