The State government on Thursday (Oct.03) cleared the Karnataka Special Investment Zone (SIZ) Bill that seeks to establish special investment zones in two districts of Karnataka.
To set up these Special Investment zones (SIZ), Karnataka Government has choosen Tumakuru and Dharwad districts, also a special investment zone authority will be set up to establish and manage these zones.
Reacting on the same to press persons here at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha Helipad on Friday (Oct.05) Belagavi South Mla Abhay Patil said, “I welcome the decision of state government to establish Special Investment Zones (SIR) in the state but why only at two districts? Karnataka Doesn’t means only two districts, It has to be established in Belagavi aswell’.
‘Belagavi is divisional headquarters even before independence. Belagavi is very important city in Karnataka, but fact that the district has been neglected over the years, With so many BJP legislators in Belagavi, the importance of district can’t be ignored and the same has been conveyed to the Chief Minister.’ He said.

‘Karnataka Government has constructed Suvarna Vidhana Soudha at Belagavi, likewise the Government must bring big industries to Belagavi so that it creates job opportunities to youths here’, said Abhay Patil.
