Transport Minister Laxman Savadi informed that the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will open petrol-diesel pumps across the state for supplying high quality petroleum products and to increase income.
Speaking to the reporters in Athani (Belagavi) he said that, The transport corporations are cash-strapped and looking for non-ticket revenues to increase their income. For this, Survey is being conducted for the lands where such pumps can be set up. Based on the survey, a final decision will be taken.
Transport Minister Laxman Savadi said that the transport corporations are looking at various ways to raise revenue, including running petrol bunks as they have been suffering from severe financial stress.
Savadi also said that they are planning to deploy specially abled employees of Karnataka Road transport corporations to work in the petrol pumps and also public can get Petrol and diesel at low prices.
