The sports center, which is being built at KSCA Stadium in Auto Nagar, will be inaugurated in October 2021, Said Secretary of KSCA Santhosh Menon on Tuesday.
Speaking at a press conference after inspecting the quality of the stadium works in the city on Tuesday, he said The sports center is being built at a cost of Rs.25 Crores. Already Rs 16 crore worth works got completed which is about 70% of total work. Due to Covid, Work was moving in slow pace, However the speed of the works have been accelerated in order to finish the work at the earliest.
The sports center which is being built in KSCA Stadium, will facilitate accommodation and practice for players participating in cricket tournaments. Which includes a gym, swimming pool, hotel and other amenities, Income from the center,will be utilised for stadium Development and Management.
KPL matches in Belagavi : This year, We are planning to conduct Karnataka Premier League (KPL) Matches. In this regard, the date of the BCCI’s various tournaments and the availability of grounds will be set for KPL. There is no suitable lighting system to host night matches at the Belagavi Stadium. So we are trying to organize day time matches. No major cricket tournament has been held in Belagavi in the wake of Corona. He said that the tourney would be staged one by one.

KSCA President Roger Binny said the Belagavi cricket ground is being built with Quality. International matches have already been held here and also received appreciation from the BCCI. More international match would be held in Belagavi in the coming days. Dharwad Zone Chairman Veeranna Savadi, Coordinator Avinash Potdar, J. Abhiram, Tilak Naidu and others were present.
