
Kinaye Dam which is being constructed in Belagavi Taluka will be ready by June month and Cm of Karnataka, B S Yadiyurappa to Inaugurate the Dam. Said Minister of water resources Ramesh Jarkiholi.
He spoke to journalists after inspecting the dam work on Saturday.
“Construction of the dam is in progress. Almost all the work has come to final stage. The work got delayed due to lockdown. The dam covers an area of 5.41 sq km. Has a watershed. Which depends on rain water. About 1,200 hectares of the villages of Kinaye, Bahaddurwadi, Santibastawad, Wagawade and Ranakunde will be irrigated. A park will developed in order to attract tourists from Goa and Belagavi surroundings”
Lands for construction of small dams are being identified in the district. Groundwater levels are often favored by small dams or reservoirs. It will be able to supply water to neighboring districts. Said Minister
