KAHER (KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research) will be inaugurating a healthcare technology research and development incubation and innovation center in Belagavi, Karnataka in January 2024.
The primary goal of KAHER Incubation and Innovation Centre (KIIC) is to promote the transfer of technology from academia to startups, enabling them to commercialize innovative ideas. By doing so, KIIC aims to foster entrepreneurship within the country and reduce import dependency by developing cost-effective products and services.
KIIC is currently engaged in active conversations with prominent incubators, including IIT-Kanpur (SIIC), to establish partnerships aimed at promoting knowledge sharing, commercializing current patents and technologies, and fostering collaboration between startups and academia within the ecosystem. This collaboration is expected to result in the creation of employment opportunities as these ventures grow and contribute to job generation in the region.
KIIC aims to create a supportive ecosystem and platform for startups and innovators to foster groundbreaking technologies, specifically targeting healthcare challenges. This collaboration will facilitate the development of innovative solutions that effectively tackle real-world healthcare issues. Additionally, startups have the opportunity to attract investments due to this beneficial environment.
In addition to meeting the domestic demand, KIIC strives to make a substantial contribution to the development of the healthcare and medical technology industries, aligning with India’s vision of becoming a global supply chain hub.
