“General KM Kariappa, the country’s first field marshal after independence, and General KS Thimmaiah, the third army general, are Kannadigas who have served in the army. Even today, this heroic legacy continues, thousands of young people from Karnataka have been selected for army recruitment and are contributing to the defense of the country and currently 32,000 young people from Karnataka are working as JOCs. There are already 28 regiments in the army and these are operating in Punjab, Bihar, Assam, Madras, Maratha, Jammu Kashmir, Gaddala, Kumaon etc. to name a few. But no such named regiment dedicated to Karnataka is functioning in the army.”
“On this occasion of celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav, I request government to consider the demand to establish a regiment named after Karnataka in the Indian army, in memory of the sacrifices and sacrifices of all the brave soldiers of Karnataka and in honor of all our soldiers who are currently serving in the army. It will be chosen from Karnataka to pay tribute to the soldiers who have dedicated themselves to the service of Mother India and give honor to the soldiers of Karnataka who are currently serving in the army and inspire millions of young people of Karnataka to involve themselves in the defense system of the country. ”
