To meet the growing demand for oxygen at medical facilities, the Jumbo Oxygen Cylinder Production has started in Belagavi
MSPL Gas Ltd plant in Honaga industrial area has a capacity to generate 86,000 litres of oxygen in an hour and produce upto 300 jumbo cylinders a day, and In Nippani 300-400 Jumbo Cylinder Production units are made functional.
MSPL plant expansion :
As part of the expansion program of MSPL Gases Limited, the company has installed liquid oxygen refilling facility to fill up to 700 cylinders of 7 cum per day. This unit is situated in Honaga Industrial Area, Belagavi. The company also aspires to install 16 tonnes of oxygen per day in a phased manner, to support the industrial growth that is anticipated in Belagavi, a district that is recognised as the 2nd capital of Karnataka by the State Government. The company aims to serve the customers in and around Belegavi, on a micro and macro level, as well as reputed hospitals in Belagavi and Hubballi.

Currently, the private hospital and Civil Hospital has liquid Oxygen units. They are supplied with oxygen according to the previous covenant. So oxygen tiling is only required for taluk and primary health centers. The jumbo cylinders is being supplied to those hospitals.

The demand for Jumbo oxygen cylinder in the district is 250-280 a day, district currently treating infected patients, said Raghuram NV, Belagavi Additional District Commisioner.
Also not to forget Athani in Belagavi district has the largest Oxygen generator unit unit in North Karnataka
