
Rajya Sabha member Iranna Kadadi, in a petition to Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, has urged the Railways to start trains from Belagavi to three cities i.e., Goa, Mangaluru and Mysoru for the benefit of the public in and around Belagavi district.
He met the Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi office on Tuesday (Feb. 2), On behalf of people of this region, he appealed minister to consider the following requests : Need to extend Belagavi – Bangaluru super fast train to Mysuru, Introducing train to Mangaluru will help students & tourists and to Goa, will help Farmers in this region to export their produces like Vegetables and Milk.
Earlier railways had a meter gauge line. Now, although the broad gauge line is being layed, some trains haven’t been restored, he appealed to restore trains to meet the demands of the people of North Karnataka.
He appealed to expedite the doubling work of Hubli – Miraj section to facilitate the movement of more trains, Also said that all the stations along the route should be upgraded.
South western railway zone limits of Hubli is till Vijayanagar in Maharashtra, which shoud be extended till Miraj and Introduce Hubli Miraj passenger train. He requested the minister.
