IndiGo, India’s preferred carrier, has launched the daily direct flight between Delhi and Belagavi on Thursday (October 05, 2023). This newly established route will fortify point-to-point connectivity and elevate connectivity between northern and southern India. As the oldest airport in the north of Karnataka, Belagavi Airport represents a notable stride in strengthening regional connectivity and providing options for both business and leisure travelers.
The 180-seater aircraft Airbus A320 6E-2378 deprarted Delhi at 3.58 pm and arrived at Belagavi at 5.55 pm with 116 passengers (65%), in a return journey the same flight 6E-2379 departed Belagavi at 6.54 pm and landed at Delhi at 9.00 pm with 134 passengers (75%) on inaugural day.
A small event was organized by M/s. IndiGo in close coordination with Belagavi Airport, AAI and Belagavi Core Develeopment Group, The event started with cutting of ribbon, lighting of sacred candle (diya) and cake cutting by Hon’ble MP RS Iranna Kadadi, MP LS Smt. Mangal Suresh Angadi, MLC Prakash Hukkeri, Belagavi North MLA Asif Sait and Belagavi Airport Director Thyagarajan.
Belagavi-based pilot Akshay Patil, a first officer with IndiGo, made a 1 min 20 sec second announcement in Kannada and thanked Mp Iranna Kadadi for his efforts in bringing this flight connection.
On behalf of Pilots from North Karnataka, Akshay has also requested MP Mangala Angadi to rename Belagavi Airport as Kittur Rani Chennamma Airport, She assured that she will put efforts for the same.
The new direct flights between Belagavi and Delhi, provides a seamless connection between the two cities.
