A step towards clearing out encroachments by street vendors and hawkers, Authorities plans to come up with a Hawker’s zone that will act as a hub for almost all of these vendors.
The shabby and cluttered vending outlets at Nathpai circle to Basaveshwar Circle will be a thing of the past with the authorities gearing to set up the first-ever designated Hawker zone.
The plan is to provide proper rehabilitation for Hawkers. There will be total 180 hawker carts and vendors on the lane. The zone will be set up at a cost Rs 5-crore.
Today Belagavi South MLA Abhay Patil gave Kickstart for the work. He said that this project will help Fruit and Vegetable vendors once completed.
