Half of District level Government offices moved to Suvarna Vidhana Soudha

After long delay, District level government offices finally started moving to suvarna vidhana soudha. The move comes after Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa directed the authorities to shift a few state-level government & 23 district level offices to Suvarna Vidhana Soudha.

As per sources 13 offices out of 23 identified district level offices have been already shifted recently and also these offices are now working from Suvarna vidhana soudha. And these offices have been shifted along with their old furniture as per government order no offices should buy new furnitures.

The district administration has made infrastructure arrangements and drinking water facility and soon canteen will be made to workers and the public who frequent these offices.

City Bus facility :

Transportation facility have been arranged for public and staff, as of now City buses plying between Belagavi Central Bus stand to Suvarna vidhana soudha and to Central bus stand two times a day. However this is not helping any, most of them have to travel 10-12 km for their work. If bus service gets good response nwkrtc promised to increase service.

First State Level office :

The State Information Commission SIC is the first state-level government department/agency which shifted from the Vidhana Soudha to the state’s second secretariat (SVS) In June 2020.

Proposed state level offices to shift to SVS :

The offices which are likely to shift are Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam Ltd., Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Ltd., Karnataka State Textiles Infrastructure Development Ltd., Central office of the Sugar Director and Sugarcane Development Commissioner, Department of Archaeology, office of one of the members of the Karnataka State Human Rights Commission, and office of one of the two Upalokayuktas .
